Darren Weston began his culinary career attending The French Culinary Institute in San Jose, before moving to New York City to pursue his passion. He spent 7 years working on the east coast where he honed his skills in the demanding New York City restaurant scene. Weston spent five years cooking at Lupa restaurant, before helping launch Manhattan’s Marta restaurant. Before returning to Lake Tahoe, Darren founded Blooming Hill Farm Events on an organic farm in the Hudson Valley. He is now the executive chef at Thunderbird Lodge. Chef Weston oversees Thunderbird’s culinary program including educational classes for adults and children; community cooking demonstrations; pop-up fundraising dinners; food, wine, and craft beers at Thunderbird events; Thunderbird’s organic herb garden; and an extraordinary mixture of menus for the public and Thunderbird members alike.
